Japan for Gaijin is a combination travelogue and travel guide.  We hope that by reading about our experiences, you will be better able to understand Japan and plan your own trip.

While Fodor’s and Lonely Planet can give you a list of places to visit, hotels to stay at, and restaurants with good food, our goal is to provide engaging stories and information about these places and Japanese culture to help travelers to understand the the things they are seeing and doing. We strive to go beyond the topics explored in traditional tour guides and cover more obscure locales, topics, and issues. Unlike traditional guide books that include only a handful of pictures, we provide high-quality photographs for each location covered.

All the posts in this blog are based on the personal experiences of the authors. We hope that by reading about our experiences, you will be better able to decide what you want to see and do in Japan. Of course, we also hope that you’ll find our writings to be interesting and entertaining!

We welcome your feedback: send us an e-mail at jfgblog@japanforgaijin.com.
